PE100+ Association Advisory Committee 2026 Held in Madrid

The PE100+ Association held its 2026 Advisory Committee meeting in Madrid, Spain, on 20 May, bringing together 19 experts from across the global pipe industry. The annual meeting provides a valuable forum for reviewing the Association’s activities and helping to shape its future direction.

Under the theme “How PE100 Pipe Systems Can Meet Today’s Challenges and Provide Resilient Utility Networks,” participants discussed a wide range of topics related to the performance, sustainability, and resilience of PE100 pipe systems.

The programme featured nine presentations, including the following contributions from local guest speakers:

·         Water Management in Spain: current situation and challenges (Carmen Hernández, DAQUAS)

·         In the grey. Brittle-Ductile (mixed) failures in tensile test of butt-welded pipes (Joaquín Lahoz. CEIS)

·         Trenchless pressure pipe rehabilitation with PE pipe in Spain. Case studies. (Jorge Lamazares, Sinzatec)

Additional presentations addressed the long-term performance of plastic pipes under climate stress, applications for structured-wall PE100 pipes, climate-related challenges facing utilities, and the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure using PE100 liners.

The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion session, where participants shared insights and recommendations on future priorities for the Association.
