An Overview of ISOCEN Standards for Plastic Piping Systems

Testing Specification Design # 1995 Edinburgh

In thispaper the mrfhorreviews the current situation with regard to the development of standards for Plastic Piping ystems. There are many detailed doc~tments/programmeswhich spec!& the exad status of ClWdS0 standards. gyou do not have access to them the Author will be pleased to answer spec~jicpoints. The development of all European Standards are to a certain extent constrained by the delay in issuing the interpretative documents and the failure to date to isslre the 'pipe mandate". Unless and until this is pzrblished all Eirropeans standards are deemed ind~rstryor vol~r~~tary standards and do not permit products to carry the "CE"mark. I S 0 standards are endeavotrring to develop along a parallel path. However, within the single market products man~lfacttrred to IS0 standards are not entitled to cany the "CE" mark.
