Bimodal PE Pipe Proves an Enduring Solution for Gas Pipe In New Mexico [PE]

Plastic Pipes Conference Association # 2012 Barcelona

Serrano de Rivera Angela

In the ultimate field environment for testing polyethylene (PE) gas pipe, New Mexico Gas Company initiated an internal evaluation of bimodal PE4710 pipe in 2005. These extensive laboratory and field evaluations were vitally important to ensure that the material could be easily fused to the existing pipe network and in the dramatic mix of New Mexico’s topography. This paper is an overview of those tests and their results.
