An analytical study about the mechanical behavior of pipes union system type: spike-bell-seal during hermeticity test is present. The analysis consist in develop a mathematical model of the gasket considering it, as a load transmission through elastic bodies which is a novel analysis procedure appropriate to solve certain kinds of problems where de boundary conditions are indeterminate. The results show, for a case when just a pressure applied in the internal wall of the spike, as the pressure induced by the seal on the spike and the bell depend of the Youngs Modulus of bell and spike ratio (E2/E1). Also the results shows how this parameter can allow us controlling the good designing of a gasket.
