This paper considers the current state of the UK water industry with respect to its maintenance of its pipelines, in the context of the regulatory framework in the UK, over the next 4 years. It also reviews the development of a thin walled PE liner for pipes in need of rehabilitation. The benefits of the use of thin walled liners in terms of their effects on the CaPex and OpEx of water companies in England and Wales are outlined.
