The Analysis of the Flexible Pipes Deflection, According to the Field Measurements

In the paper the situation, which exists in Poland in the field of the design of plastic pipes is presented. The size of the plastic pipes deflection obtained from the field measurements, which took place in Poland a few years ago, is widely discussed. The variety of pipe bedding conditions as well as its technical parameters allowed to carry out the detailed analysis and to determine the influence of the important factors upon the size of the pipe deflection. The comparative analysis of a few methods of plastic pipes calculations, which are established in Europe (and used in Poland) is presented. In the paper the comparison of the size of the theoretical deflection (obtained from calculations) and the measured one is analysed. The special attention is paid on the influence of the individual factors (connected with the quality of the installation, the size of the live loads and so on) on the size of the pipe deflection.
