This paper briefly introduces the characteristics of steel wire reinforced thermoplastics (PE) composite pipe structure, domestic and foreign sea crossing pipeline laying method, methods and their advantages and disadvantages, welding installation of steel wire reinforced thermoplastics (PE) composite pipe laying across the sea. Pipe-laying ship technology across the sea in Dalian Changhai in water supply engineering vessel submarine pipeline, solve the problem of deep sea water supply engineering, provide a useful reference for similar complex sea sea water supply project.

Polyethylene pipe is used more often in the underwater pipeline laying material, because of its unique flexibility, float, scalability, integrity and non-disclosure, the connection characteristics of any length, in the water supply pipes, drain pipes underwater laying applications, the use of a huge prospect, has become the best choice for the underwater pipe laying. steel wire reinforced thermoplastics (PE) composite pipe (hereinafter referred to as SRTP pipe) is a new polyethylene composite pipe, which maintains all the advantages of polyethylene pipe, but also gives it a higher tensile strength and flexural strength, is more suitable for the complex sea conditions underwater pipe laying construction. SRTP pipe excellent performance, a single 50 m long pipe production delivery, safe and reliable fused melt plus double welding process, with the new pipelay vessel laying low cost method of construction, will promote its sewage in the deep sea, island water , desalination and other pressure piping system applications. In this paper, the construction techniques for deposition of ultra-long haul SRTP buried at sea pipeline elaborate, provide useful lessons for the future construction of offshore pipelines laying applications.
