Spirally ribbed, directly extruded structured PVC-U Pipe. Production, Properties and Jointing Methods

The production of thermoplastics pipe is firmly tied to the extrusion technique. The principle is simple and the effectiveness of working and homogenizing the material is the best obtainable. What has not been possible, is by extrusion alone to give the pipe wall a profile other than in the longitudinal direction. To produce structured wall pipe with reinforcing ribs, the extrusion technique has had to be combined with other techniques like moulding and winding. Now there is a new extrusion technique by which spirally rib-reinforced PVC-U pipe can be directly extruded.
