Where are we

The plastic pipe industry in Europe has realised dominant positions against traditional materials in the markets for gas and water transport and in the building industry. .
Considerable scope for growth is available in larger sizes where predominantly traditional materials still hold a strong position.
New innovation developments will gain this penetration, both for pressure and non-pressure plastic pipe systems also in these sectors of the market.

The environment

More than any other product, plastic pipe systems can help to protect the environment.

The industry is taking the lead in developing new and more environment friendly products while at the same time addressing the need for zero waste plants and introducing the first projects for customer returns.

The increasing acceptance of multilayer products offers the possibility to use recycled materials.

Europe of the Future

In a border free Europe a number of factors will stimulate the increased usage of plastic pipe systems. We will be faced with increasing competition on products, on prices and on service. This will come both from traditional material suppliers and from within the industry.

These competitive forces will encourage and speed up the necessary innovation in product design and customer service.

Potentially the "open market Europe" may attract industries from the U.S.A, and/or the Far East for long term commitments.

The opening-up of the former East Block economies with the extensive need for investment in infrastructure will provide a challenge to our industry.
