PVC4Pipes, a non-profit association founded in Brussels in 2003, whose main purpose is to support and stimulate the use of PVC pipe systems, has recognized the need to improve the knowledge and the perception in the market of the quality and environmental sustainability of PVC pipe systems. So a series of communication tools are being developed and specific target audiences have been identified.
The tools are a set of four so called ‘Training Packages’:
- ‘Training Package for sales forces of pipe manufacturers’ (otherwise called Euromaster): It is for internal use and intended for the sales forces of the pipe manufactures, in order to give them a set of clear reliable, consistent and professional information about PVC material and PVC pipe solutions. Technical answers for emotive & sensitive questions about PVC are provide too.
- ‘The Package for Specifiers’: This one is intended for specifiers municipal engineers, public procurement officers
- ‘The Package for Distributors’: This is for sales forces of distributors who could organize external information seminars towards installers and end-users about PVC pipe systems.
- ‘The Presentation toolkit towards the educational world’: The key target groups are technical / engineering schools, Universities, professional training.
The information will be better received if it is emitted by a recognized trade association like PVC4Pipes. Key messages are to demonstrate how the PVC industry is environmentally aware and pro-active in compliance with regulatory requirements and promote the continuous improvement in quality levels achieved along the PVC chain over the years. All the elements of the promotion of PVC pipe systems described above are developed without denigrating other plastics pipe systems.
