The advantages of PVC, whicn have led to its predominant position amongst polymeric materials used for pipe applications ranging from sewer pipes and water pressure pipes to drainage pipes, rain water goods and cable ducting are well known.
Besides being light in weight and energy efficient in their production, PVC pipes have a proven record of easy installation, are free from corrosion and provide a long service life with low operation and maintenance costs.
This paper covers the current market situation for PVC pipes in Western Europe and attempts to forecast the market development post 1992.
