No Dig Drain, A System for Remediation of Soil

Polva Pipelife B.V., Holland, is a producer of plastic pipe systems. The company belongs to the Pipelife Group. The headoffice of the Group is in Vienna, Austria. In 1996 Polva Pipelife introduced a new product on the market with the name NO DIG DRAIN@ Recently the system has been granted a patent. 

NO DIG DRAIN@ is a drainage system that can be installed underneath existing buildings and -. installations by means of a horizontal directional drilling technique. The product consists of a smooth PE (polyethylene) mantle pipe and an internal corrugated PE filte; pipe. .4 standard type No Dig Drain consists of a perforated part and at both ends a non-perforated part. The perforated part lays in the groundwater and this part is connected to the surface with the two non perforated parts. The perforations in the mantle pipe are circular. The prefab drain sections can be made with various lengths. The jointing of the mantle pipes is done with special end trust snap couplers. For the internal filter pipes there is also a special quick coupler available which gives a mimimal reduction of the inside diameter. The pipe ends at the surface at the entrance point and the exit point make the drain accessible for inspection, infiltration and for connections to drainage pumps.
