New Technical Guide - Using Plastics Pipes for Water Supply and Sewer Systems

The Danish Plastics Industry, represented by Uponor A/S, KWH Pipe AS and Nordisk Wavin A/S, has cooperated with Erling Holm, consultant, and DANVA (Danish Water and Waste Water Association) in the drafting of the above new technical guide ("Brug af plastrør til vand- og afløbssystemer, vejledning nr. 54" (1)) which was published in book form at the beginning of October 2003. A Danish version of this guide can be downloaded from Wavin's website www.wavin.dk. The guide is an applicable quality tool to system owners, consultants, producers, contractors, operational and maintenance staff which are all responsible parties in the efforts to ensure the required lifetime of 100 years . The guide deals with complete flexible plastic pipe systems for water supply and sewer systems – systems that form an essential part of the infrastructure of a modern society. Generally, the guide focuses on lifetime, quality, environment and economy, thereby involving all the people responsible for the final result : politicians, local governments, consultants/designers, producers, contractors , operational staff etc. The guide has been divided into a general introduction and four main themes, production, design, installation, operation.
