M5000 - the largest methanol plant with a capacity of 640.000 t/a is being constructed with German support on Trinidad and Tobago.
This plant is connected to existing ammonia plants. For the underground pipeline of 3,000 m the decision was taken in benefit of a polypropylene pipe, as it has low weight, good chemical and thermal resistance and good welding characteristics. The contribution of a delivery in time and support on site during the installation realized the project so that the world’s largest methanol plant could start its operation
