Flexible plastics pipes have found an everincreasing use for hot-water installations. The requirements that these pipes have to fulfil are more rigorous and partly different from traditional requirements. The oxygen permeability of the pipes has been assumed to cause serious functional trouble in sealed central-heating systems. This paper aims to treat facts and misconceptions relating to the statements above.
