Development of innovative pipe coiling process minimises field welding in HDPE gas pipelines [PE]

# 2012 Barcelona

This paper outlines a process for deforming high-density polyethylene pipe into an elliptical form to permit pipes >DN160, up to DN315, to be factory-coiled on small diameter reels. The coiled pipe may then be transported to its installation site on conventional semi trailers, in continuous lengths of up to 300 metres. After arrival on site, the coiled pipe may be transferred to a high ground-clearance trailer fitted with despoiling and re-rounding equipment for string along the pipeline alignment.

Choosing PVC Resins for Formulation Properties

Author(s) : Zena, Connolly 2006 Washington DC

The selection of PVC resins for pipe extrusion is regulated by the Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI) in terms of inherent viscosity (I.V.), and is further mandated to be 0.88 to 0.96 for pressure pipe. In addition, there are cell classification requirements, a system that defines the minimum physical properties a pipe or...
