PP-MD PUSHFIT SILENT PIPING SYSTEM REINFORCED WITH NANO FILLERS

Papers # 2012 Barcelona

A minerally reinforced polypropylene (PP-MD) ,Because of its high specific weight and its special molecular structure, is able to absorb airborne noise as well as structure borne noise created in soil & waste piping system. The Main mechanism of damping the sound in this piping structure is increasing the density of the pipe structure by using the High filled PP compound. In high filled polypropylene normally the Modules of Elasticity is increased but some other mechanical property like toughness and Impact Strength is decreased. As Impact strength is a critical property of Soil & Waste system especially in low temperature condition which is available in IRAN Climate we decided to increase this property by using the Nano filler to enhance this mechanical property. The effect of filler content on mechanical properties, crystallization process, morphology and sound attenuation of the composites were studied by Tensile and Impact Test, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and B&K Impedance Tube.

HIGH MODULUS PP TANKS DELIVERS PRACTICAL & COST EFFECTIVE SEWAGE TREATMENT TO RURAL INDONESIA

Author(s) : Marc van Loo (Dr.), Constant Van Aerschot, KumHoong Lou 2018 Las-Vegas

In many parts of rural developing Asia and even some parts of Africa, sewerage from households is often discharged directly to the surrounding. This unfortunate fact means that many waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery and typhoid continue to afflict these communities. Numerous efforts from governments,...

Molecularly oriented polyvinyl chloride (PVC-O) pipe has been found to withstand large ground deformation during seismic events without damage. The properties of PVC-O pipe that support this performance have been investigated in a multi-year testing program undertaken at the Geotechnical Lifelines Large Scale Testing...

NEW TESTING METHOD FOR ELECTROFUSION WELDS

Author(s) : Dr. Love Pallon, Dr. Karin Jacobsson, Daniel Ejdeholm, Marie Allvar, Rikard Kärrbrant 2018 Las-Vegas

This work presents the development of the Full Length Tensile Test (FLTT), a method that enables an objective judgement of welding quality of electrofusion welds by measuring the energy to break (J/mm2 ). In this way a brittle, ductile and transitional mode failure can be differentiated without subjective visual...

EXPANDING THE APPLICATION RANGE OF HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE FOR USE AS AN INNER-LINER MATERIAL IN REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC PIPE AND STEEL PIPE

Author(s) : Johannes de Bruin, Dr. Bert Dalmolen, Albo van Hateren 2016 Berlin

Normal High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is commonly used as the fluid contacting element, or the “inner-liner”, in Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (RTP) and steel pipes up to 65 ºC. Through a modification of the HDPE polymer matrix, by adding nanoparticles, the E-modulus can be increased. Research shows that...

FLEXIBLE PLASTIC SOLUTION FOR DISTRICT HEATING PIPES

In today’s world a lot of energy is wasted. More than 50 % of the energy is lost on its way to the customer. The fundamental idea of modern district heating is to recycle heat that otherwise would be lost and to use renewable sources to heat homes. In other words: a market place for green heat that reduces...
