PE100+ Advisory meeting was held in Nice, France with presence of 27 members and local experts from France including other Associations - TEPPFA, Marcogaz, Iploca.
The following topics were discussed:
- PE Pipe Model - "Guidance for PE Pressure Pipe Systems": the final on-line document was shared and praised by the advisory experts. The attendants believe that this tool will bring the usage of the PE pipe systems into a new era.
- A draft Marcogaz protocol setting up a quality plan for PE products for the gas supply industry as well as some starting point for a harmonized approach in butt welding
- Large diameter pipes: the audience felt that, although PE is a good solution for big diameters in drinking water, in order to continue growth in this market, we will need to work on welding, technical training & guidance (hydraulic design, pressure test and commissioning), and to modify current conservatism and perception (e.g. plastic vs. engineered solution - 50 years)
- Migration of additives: APME, PE100+, and TEPPFA have been actively working together to deal with this topic specifically existing in Nordic countries.
The next annual advisory meeting will be held in Warsaw, Poland in June 2005.
